Damn the politeness...
We have been far too polite regarding the current Administration. Here is one take on what is really happening: http://www.ericblumrich.com/14.html.
Three or four of the 14 points are perhaps a bit overstated; the rest seem pretty on point.

I have been wondering how this country will survive another 3 years of this gang of criminals. Today, after DeLay's indictment, it's clear to me: with the whole pack of them in jail!
By the way, this is Other Lisa of papertiger - with this word verification, it won't let me log in to publish the damn comment...
how do I turn that off? I didnt' realize that was happening...
Uh, Carlos, you're kidding, right? I counted:
A. 14 signs of fascism
B. 3 that one could argue exist
C. 2 that are pretty justified (identifying a common enemy, "obsession" with national security)
D. 1 great recruiting tool for Republicans: Godwin's law in action.
Really, this is the kind of over-the-top nonsense that might energize the ANSWER crowd but alienates those of us in the middle (and I say this as someone who voted for Kerry).
Frankly, I found 4 or 5 of the "14 signs" to be over the top, or mis-conceived. But the rest look pretty grounded in fact. The only difference between us and a fascist state is that we still have institutions that restrain the worst instincts of those in power.
