Off the radar screen

We are not a very scientifically literate society. Apparently, our leaders don't think that matters. If our leaders WERE scientifically literate, and could be trusted to make good decisions about the funding and the use of science, it might be okay that the rest of us are not all that informed (although putting anything entirely in the hands of experts is dangerous--look at our banking system).

Unfortunately, some of our leaders are worse than ill-informed. They are knowledge-hostile knuckleheads. The new knucklehead-in-chief appears to be one of our candidates for VP. Click on the header of this post to see it for yourself.

Imagine how Palin sounds to a Licensed PE in Chem Eng, when she speaks about her Energy prowess.

Carlos - this executive term thrown around like a buzz word ... I thik OB at 40ish probably is a good exec. I think Palin has proven she is not with her words. In your world, raising $150m in 1 month is something few execs can do, right?

McCain is ok or nok ... but hey, Palin will destroy everything we Americans have accomplished, simply because she does not respect the intellect and the use of knowledge to be constructive/productive.

Remember Mean Girls in High School? Well, if she is not faded by our vote and continued rejection of what she is, then those Mean Girls will dominate the nerds who do all the work, once again.

Palin rejects accomplishment, because she cannot do anything herself.

And, thus, she is so very attractive to so many of our fellow countrymen/women. Only, I wish these people who are admiring her would admire Einstein instead. At lease Einstein wore the same kind of clothes they can afford to wear.
